Everyone Is Welcome at Silhouette Stages

Our home at Slayton House is fully accessible, and we welcome requests for accommodations from audience members, performers, and volunteers.

Accessibility Point of Contact

Jeremy Goldman, Executive Director

Reach out to request an accommodation, ask a question about access, or tell us about a problem.

Our Venue

We perform at Slayton House, 10400 Cross Fox Lane, Columbia, MD 21044, in the Wilde Lake Village Center.

  • The entire building is wheelchair accessible. There are no stairs, and ramps lead to the theater.

  • The entrance doors open with an electronic push button.

  • Accessible parking is right outside the building.

  • Restrooms are accessible.

  • Wheelchair and companion seating is available at every performance.

  • The stage, backstage, and dressing rooms are accessible too, so performers, crew, and volunteers can take part in every part of a production.

At Every Performance

  • Digital programs, which you can read on your own phone or device and enlarge as needed.

  • Content and sensory advisories for each production, such as loud noises like gunshots or visual effects like strobe lights. We print them in the program and include them in our recorded preshow announcement.

  • Service animals are always welcome.

Requesting an Accommodation

You can ask in whichever way is easiest for you:

  • Before your visit, email access@silhouettestages.com or text 410-216-4499.

  • Or just show up and ask any member of our friendly, front-of-house team.

Advance notice helps us prepare, but you are welcome to ask on the day. If you need something not listed on this page, tell us and we will work with you to find a solution. The same applies to auditions, rehearsals, and volunteering.

Grievance Procedure

If you feel that one of our events or programs was not accessible to you, or that a request was not handled fairly, please tell us so we can make it right.

  1. Contact our Accessibility Point of Contact by email, phone, text, or in person. Tell us what happened, the event and date, and how to reach you. If it is easier, we can write down your complaint for you.

  2. We will acknowledge your complaint within 5 business days.

  3. We will look into it and give you a written response within 15 business days of receiving your complaint. The response will explain what we found and what we will do. If we need more time, we will tell you why and when to expect our response.

  4. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may ask our Board President, Ande Kolp, to review it. Email ande@silhouettestages.com within 30 days of receiving our response.

  5. The President will give you a written decision within 30 days of receiving your request. That decision is final within Silhouette Stages. You may still contact any of the organizations listed below.

We keep a written record of every complaint and how it was resolved. We will not retaliate against anyone for raising a concern or helping someone else raise one.
