Thank you for your interest in getting involved with Silhouette Stages.  We look forward to having you on-stage, back-stage, and in our audience.  Below are our current volunteer opportunities as of 12/2/2018.



Cabaret Night


Are you interested in performing at our next Cabaret Night on February 9 at 8:00pm at Slayton House? If so, please fill out an application to perform no later than January 15. We are seeking a variety of acts, such as singing, dancing, instrumental performance, juggling, comedy, etc. We’ll be limiting the show to 20 Acts, so please get your application in early! And this time around, we’re looking for more group Acts, so we’ll be giving preference to those with 2 or more people.

-Will be held at Slayton House in Columbia, Covenant Baptist Church in Ellicott City and/or St John’s Lutheran Church in Linthicum Heights.

-Must be 18+ to audition
-Please arrive 10-15 min prior to your time slot to fill out all required paperwork. Late arrivals may not be able to be accommodated.
- Audition Forms available at the door.
- Bring a copy of your theatrical resume & headshot.
- Prepare 32 bars of a song in the style of the show that shows off your vocal and acting talents (Approximately 30-45 seconds of music).
- Please do NOT audition with any song from Cabaret.
- No acapella auditions, please bring sheet music in your key or a recorded track (without vocals).
- Please arrive dressed and ready for a dance combination, if asked (Not all roles require a dance audition).
- All sizes, ethnicities, and gender identities welcome to audition.
- Prepare to list major conflicts from February 2018 - April 2019.
***No conflicts will be approved from April 20 - June 2***

ALL ROLES OPEN, Non-Union/Non-Paid: We are in search of multi-ethnic and talented cast of actors, singers, and dancers for this exciting musical production. We are looking to cast 17 individuals.

Due to the subject matter and situations within the show we will only be accepting auditions for individuals age 18+* (*Note: there is one child soprano ages 6-14 that will be cast)

Master of Ceremonies (Emcee): Male or Female 25-50
vocal range: Tenor (Db3 to a G4); the host/master of ceremonies at the Kit Kat Klub--presented as a gender-questionable character comfortable with being close to both men and women; comedic, lovable but with a dark side; requires agile stage movement and dance; age range and appearance flexible, speaks with a German accent.

Sally Bowles: Female, 20-39
vocal range: Mezzo Soprano (E3 to C5), strong belt; a British cabaret singer at the Kit Kat Klub, a quirky character who comes across as flighty, yet at times struggles with knowing the darkness of the reality of her life as a cabaret performer; strong dance skills required; speaks with a British accent.

Clifford Bradshaw: Male, 25-39
vocal range: Baritone/ Tenor (C3 to E4); An American novelist and English teacher traveling to Berlin; presented as a closeted gay man exploring his sexuality; comfortable with stage movement and light dance; speaks with an American accent.

Ernst Ludwig: Male 20-59
vocal range flexible; a friendly and likable German who takes English lessons from Cliff, and smuggles funds for the Nazi party; comfortable with stage movement and light dance; age range is flexible, speaks with a German accent

Fräulein Schneider: Female, 50+
vocal range: Mezzo/Alto (Eb3-B4); a landlady who rents rooms in her large flat; comfortable with stage movement and light dance (waltz); speaks with a German accent.

Fräulein Kost/ Fritzie: Female, 30-49
vocal range: Mezzo (G3 to Eb5); another of Fraulein Schneider’s roomers, she earns money by offering favors to sailors, presentation of the character should exhibit a strong sexual comfort and commanding nature; comfortable with stage movement; speaks with a German accent.

Herr Schultz: Male, 50+
vocal range: Baritone (D3 to G4); one of Fraulein Schneider’s roomers and the proprietor of a fruit shop; comfortable with stage movement and light dance; speaks with a German accent.

Nazi Youth: Male 6-14
vocal Range: Male Soprano (F4 to Gb5); a young boy involved in the Nazi Party, to be incorporated throughout the show. Will be featured singing the solo “Tomorrow Belongs to Me” acapella. Must have good musical ability, and focused stage presence.

The Kit Kat “Girls” & “Boys”: Female & Male, 18-50
vocal rages: Men (A2 to G4)/ Women (F3 to G5). Nine individuals will be cast as Kit Kat Club performers and various featured roles; seeking strong singers in all voice parts; excellent dance skills required. The individuals will also be part of various scenes as performers and as club patrons; we are hoping for individuals of various shapes, sizes & ethnicities -- must be comfortable with portraying free in gender depictions and scanty costumes that show off sex appeal; features will be drawn from this group. Featured roles include: Rosie, Lulu, Frenchie, Texas, Fritzie, Helga, Bobby, Victor, Hans, Herman, Rudy, Max, Customs Official, Nazi Officers etc.

  • ACCOUNTING: Seeking volunteer member of the Silhouette Stages Board of Directors to start as soon as possible; must have background in accounting, finance, and/or tax preparation; will be responsible for tax filings, budgetary matters, and financial planning.

  • MARKETING: Seeking volunteer member of the Silhouette Stages Board of Directors to start as soon as possible; must have background in marketing, branding, and social media; will be responsible for marketing and long term branding/marketing strategies for Silhouette Stages.
